5th Sunday Café at Belvin AMEC word of study for today is Resolution historical thought!!! Religious origins. Babylonians made promises to their gods at the start of each year that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts. The Romans began each year by making promises to the god Janus, for whom the month of January is named.
Praise the Lord what a great lunch fellowship in the VALLEY with Sister Karen and her grandsons. Thanks for hanging with the Pastor Rev. Sandra Simmons
October 10, 2018 To: Sixth Episcopal District Fr: Reginald T. Jackson, Bishop Re: Hurricane Michael Hurricane Michael is expected to hit the panhandle of Florida this afternoon, and to move to southern Georgia tonight and tomorrow. The hurricane is expected to produce heavy rain and strong winds. By the time it moves across southern Georgia, it is expected to be a category 2 hurricane with very heavy rain, and possibility of tornadoes. Hurricane Michael will also cause loss of power through out the region. I am asking that our members and churches follow the advice and warnings from state and local officials. Governor Deal has issued a state of emergency for 96 Georgia counties, in middle and southern Georgia. Northern Georgia is expected to receive up to two inches of rain and moderate winds. Every family and individuals are asked and encouraged to get to the stores and get needed supplies, including food, water, batteries and other necessities. Where needed board up windows and other steps to secure property. If necessary, please leave and go to hotels or be with family members and friends in other locations. I am asking and expect that activities at our churches in the southern part of the state will be cancelled, and that our members will stay home or in a secure place. It is my hope that our churches will be able to have worship services this Sunday. Let us be in prayer that God will sustain us, and keep our families and church edifices safe. Yours and His, Reginald T. Jackson Bishop
